sorry but have a USB question;

    When i plug-in my zip100 usb drive...W98se doesn't recognize it and the mobo supports usb....dah!!

    Is there any trick to getting w98se to use USB...??

    Double check that your USB port is enabled in BIOS.

    it's not just the zip drive, it's the web cam also or could be anything else.....like i tried a usb cdrw drive too.

    It's like w98se doesn't support USB or something.:confused:

    I use win98se and have no problems with usb. Check in your device manager to see what's listed and whether there are any exclamation marks beside the usb entries. If so, remove them and restart the computer so windows can redetect it as new hardware.

    Humm, ok........

    it has U serial bus controller, usb root hub, and usb uni host controller..!!!

    that's what she told me over the phone.

    If you look under properties for these devices what does it say?
    You didn't answer whether everything was showing up o.k. in device manager ( exclamation marks or resource conflicts).

    Try deleting those entries in the device Manager and then shut down the PC for a minute or so and then boot up again and Windows will install them again
    (detect new Hardware) it will ask you to insert the Win.98 CD or if you have the Windows installed on your HD point it to the Cab. Files.
    I have just gone through that connecting a Digital Camera via USB on win.98SE
