When downloading with Internet Explorer, is there any way to get the download box to display the FULL download path of the file you are getting? ie: (http://www.any.com/any.exe)

Or maybe there is some kind of logging going on that would show the path?

I want to know so I can transfer the download to a download manager when I get a real slow connection and numerous breaks. If it goes through an interim page, or the webmaster has stopped it from showing the link on the status bar or copying to the clipboard, you have no idea what you are really downloading.

    Thank you.

Don't know about getting Internet Explorer to show the whole link but you could right click on the download link, choose copy shortcut and then paste the address into whatever app you want.

Thank you Zander. That works when the webmaster hasn't disabled right click, or right click only leads to an interim asp page or the like. Sometimes my download manager (FlashGet) is able to blow right through the asp reference and get to the file, sometimes not.

When right click is disabled on a web page you can usually get around it by highlighting what you want to copy and then using IE's Edit>Copy. If that doesn't work, the keyboard combination of Ctrl/C almost always does.

    Thanks, Miz.

I didn't know any of that. I consider myself experienced but have never addressed that particular problem.
