Anyone have any idea why my IE 6 keeps adding a Folder called Links to my Favorites? I use the same version at home and at work and it only seems to happen at home. Every time I delete the newly created Links folder, it adds it automatically when I relaunch IE. The folder is always empty.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

rck1--That is the way Windows/IE works. If you right click on a blank spot on any of the bars (grey areas) at the top of the IE window, you will be offered the chance to create a Links bar. It usually appears to the right of the Address bar. You can add shortcuts to web pages or Windows Explorer pages by dragging and dropping their addresses onto the Links bar, or by adding them to that Links folder in Favorites. If you drag and drop to the Links bar, the address will automatically appear in the Links folder.
It is just another way to quickly go somewhere with a single click.
For much more detail, click IE Help, type links in the "Type in keyword to find" line and you will be offered many topics on this subject which you can highlight and then see by clicking Display.

The links folder is always there.

Why not take advantage of it?

Drag and drop some of your frequently accessed sites into that folder and add the Links toolbar.
Then, you can simply clikc on the links icon and get a quick list of those sites.
You can also place folders within the Links folder if you wish to categorize those favorites.

And, btw, you can drop in shortcuts to things like Word, Notepad, etc, etc

Or, if you want to get rid of it: Go into win explorer to the Favorites folder. Right click on the links folder and go to Properties. Change it to Hidden...
