    Re: Bat Level Low

The only battery I know of in a pc is your CMOS Battery. It is round, probably about a half inch in width and approx a 1/4 inch in height.

If you take your computer cover off and do some looking around on your motherboard you should find it. Flat side should be facing you and will be a shiny silver color. It looks exactly like a watch battery or laser pointer battery if you have ever seen one of those (it just a little bigger).

Once you pull it out, look at the number on the battery and that will tell you the type to buy. Just go to Radio Shack, Best Buy, Compusa, etc.. to buy a new one. A new one should be about 2 or 3 dollars.

A good test to know if your CMOS battery is low: Does your windows clock seemingly get further and further behind gradually over the span of days/weeks? If so, then replace the battery.

Also, pay attention to whitch side is up when you pull the battery out, both sides are not the same. I recommend pulling the power cord from the wall before taking the cover off also.

    Hope that helps...

Got the battery low as an error message?

    Desktop or laptop?

    Connected to an UPS?

What is in your event logs for the time you got the error?
