We have about 70 workstations in our windows 2000 domain and have recently moved many people around to different places in the building. They are all on Roaming profiles and their workstatons and locally installed printers went with them. The network printers have moved to other places with the result that the printer choices people had are now no longer applicable.

Is there anyway that I can delete old network printers from users profiles and assign new ones through group policy? or do I have to visit every machine and reconfigure the individual printers?

    Thanks

You can change printer's (delete/add them) at login with a visual basic script...

    or dos batch files even..

http://technet.microsoft.com have example lines of vbs scripts in their Script Centre section.

Thanks for that, I will have a look. I have also found that I can run a reg file to set up network printers, but it is not a complete solution as doing it by group policy
