Bootup stops just before desktop

    All was well. Then booted up normally. All proceeded until the desktop was to come up and I got a green screen. The mouse worked. Ctl-Alt-Delete brought up the proper window. Tried to bootup in safe mode. That too seemed to go ok until the desktop was to come up. All I got was a screen with the words safe mode around the edge. Any help here.

    Can you run explorer.exe from task manager?

    Try running a virus scan as you may have a trojan.
