I am looking for software that will delete the pop-ups that seem to be getting to be more and more. If someone has had some good luck with one, please post the URL for me to download the software. :( They are getting to be more getting very plentiful and I am really tired of having to delete them before I can even view the site. Thanks! msbooch

    No popups w Mozilla

Another approach, instead of adding a separate pgm to avoid popups is to use a browser that does not allow unrequested windows to open.

This is what Mozilla does (Mozilla, for those of you who don't know, is an open source FREE browser (Netscape 7+ is based on Mozilla 1.xx).

    Download latest version from www.mozilla.org

It's only about 11Mb and does not come with lots of advertising junk like Netscape

Then from Edit -pulldown menu choose

    Preferences
    Advanced + key
    Scripts and plugins

    take check mark off for

    unrequested windows to open
(the wording is pretty awkward -but it works)

Mozilla is faster than IE, and except for some specialized Java situtations (perhaps I haven't downloaded some special Java plugins) it is very compatible. Esp nice for former Netscape users.

I've used PopUpStopper for a couple years and it works very well.

It's fully operational freeware or if you want get even more features you can get a pro version for a price.

    :)

Meaya Poup Filter works well with
Explorer and both Opera and Mozilla have a built in Popup stopper that you can enable or disable up to you.
    good luck

I've tried Popup-Stopper and a couple of other freeware popup add killers and the one I like best is Proxomitron - http://proxomitron.org - It has a little bit of a learning curve but but once you set it up, it works automatically with no further input. It also offers the option of customizing the look and function of web pages.
