I have the new Windows 11 Outlook mail, "Microsoft Outlook Version 1.2024.1023.3". Suddenly, when I hover the pointer over any link, in Outlook Mail only, instead of just getting the URL information, I now also get lines and lines of information. Does anyone know why this just started happening? This does not happen in the browser.

Are you talking about line like in this Picture? The pic is from Outlook 2010 which is a good bit old...

Can't say that I've ever paid any attention before...

When clicked on, it takes me to: Roku

And it appears to be on purpose:

Why does Outlook no longer show the original URL on hovering over a link in an email message?

Yes, Steve. That is what is now happening. Prior, it just showed the URL, now it shows all those extra lines if info. Strangely, when I tried to capture it with a screen-shot, the URL box didn't show at all. Do you know how to stop this from displaying all that extra info?

Did you click on the link I posted above? It just says-> Redirecting

In short - some call it a bug even though Microsoft probably did it on purpose.

Yes, I clicked on the link and read on and on not understanding the finer points. Steve, in the attachment you posted, which is identical to what I am getting in the New Outlook Mail only, the first line is the traditional web address which I am used to seeing, but what exactly is all the reams of other information which just started popping-up also. I just don't know what it is, let alone how to get rid of it. Thanks for your help.

"Starting in 2019 sometime, Windows Outlook began showing the original URL on hovering over a link in an email message.
Before that, it had only shown the rewritten safelinks version, which is very difficult to read and not at all helpful to someone who's trying to check what's behind that link's display text."
(continued in the first section of the link I posted)
