My Toshiba LapTop is more often than not connected to the charger and gets shut down and restarted when needed.

Yesterday (patch-tuesday) KB5030211 and KB5030180 were installed. After that, the battery drained and no longer takes any charge. When I remove the charger, the LapTop dies instantly.

When the charger is reconnected, it is possible to restart the LapTop and it indicates for a few seconds that the battery takes charge (the battery symbol "rolls") but soon it stops indicating (the battery symbol no longer "rolls"). After a good nights sleep, I checked the LapTop and the battery had not taken any charge.

Is anyone else experiencing the same or is this a coincidence (the battery dies on patch-tuesday)?

I think that this a coincidence that the battery dies on patch-tuesday. Wonder if the chargeing brick is bad?

The battery is a year old (approximately) and I hoped for a longer life. Maybe better toss the LapTop in the bin and buy a new one. Then, I'll hopefully get a better battery.

About the charger, the LapTop runs on it which means that it's not dead.

I think I would uninstall the MS Updates to determine whether that was the cause.o_O;)

The battery on my ASUS laptop lasted a week longer than the warranty. I just leave it plugged in and go from there.

That thought has crossed my mind. I'll probably try that.

I uninstalled KB5030211 but it made no difference. (The update to .NET Framework, KB5030180, can't possibly have anything to do with it.)

Maybe I did it the wrong way around. After uninstalling the update, ascertaining that it was not the culprit, I swapped the battery for the old one which I still haven't recycled. I know that the old one is "finished" but it takes charge.

Now, I'm pretty sure that the new battery is totally dead but luckily still within warranty.
