I use Windows XP pro on a FAT32
I've activated guest account in 'users' to limit access to my files. But guests can still access my documents through start button>my computer>*drive
I can not make any folder private because I'm not using NTFS formatting.

My question: is there a way to hide the start button itself in guest account only, without hiding it in my account as admin? I want to limit a guest's access to only the icons I leave for him on the desktop.

Go to Start>Run and type in gpedit.msc, click on OK. You can set all sorts of "group policies" there, including making the Start button unavailable to specific user accounts.

A word of warning: be careful and change nothing unless you understand completely what the effect of each change will be or you can, like another user on another board, end up locking your own account out of pretty much everything.

A good resource for learning about the Group Policy Editor is
Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 307882 or do a Google search for "XP group policies editor" for sites to help you learn more.

Note: gpedit.msc is only available in XP Pro
