I recently purchased a WiFi Range Extender (WIFI 4) and while the setup instructions seem simple, I am having a difficult time connecting to my network. My network router is a TP-Link Archer A7 and for the life of me cannot locate the SSID on it. I do find the SSID on my phone but it only connects without the internet. I have the Extender hardwired to my router but even after refresh, I don't see it in my Network/Internet.

    In W11 > Start > Settings > Network and Internet > Properties > SSID
Should be the same in W10.
What Brand of WiFi Extender have you got?
Some need to be plugged in to Wall socket NEAR your Modem/Router and use a WPS button to connect to your Network automatically.
Some need to be connected to the Router by Ethernet cable.
Some connect by Ethernet cable to the Ethernet connector on the comp.
Have you visited the Brand name website for help?

The Brand is WiFi 4, I have it plugged in 12" from my router, it is connected by cable. I find the SSID on my phone but not on my router. Consequently it connects to my phone without Internet Connection. There are numerous videos on this device and I have followed everyone of them, yet I can't see any evidence that the device is connected to the router. I have called TP-Link and gotten nowhere.

I have a similar connection to what you have described.
My FRITZ!Box 7530 Modem/Router is connected by cable to my comp. The OS is W11 Pro 64 bit.
If I click on the Internet Icon (lower Right of screen), my SSID (username) appears and there is a box that shows a Wi-Fi icon and an Arrow head.
If you click on the Arrow, another box opens and there is an Information icon (circular with i in it).
Click on this Info icon and another page opens, Network and Internet > Wi-Fi > XXXXX (your username).
Halfway down this page, you should see SSID: (your username).

I have also got 3 different brands of Wi-Fi extenders my son and daughter supplied me when they thought Wi-Fi wasn't up to scratch.
    Netgear WN1000RP, AC750 NP127 and Wi-Fi Repeater (no brand).
All of them use a different web address when connecting to the Internet. e.g. 192.168.10.1 192.168.40.1
There are a number of video clips (Youtube) showing how to install and set up Wi-Fi extenders by Wi-Fi without using the cable connection.
    Hope this helps.

Thanks. I finally chucked it and bought new tp-link but wouldn't you know it - same difficulty even after calling tplink support. It seems to involve WIFI for some unknown reason and if my PC is operating with WIFI or not. I have internet connection (Earthnet) but when I go to Device Manager and look under Network Adapters, I don't see anything that relates to Wireless or my router. Maybe this is why I am having such a problem with an extender configuration.

In reference to your answer; I also have Win11/64 and when I go to my Internet Connection Icon and click on it all it tells me is (right click) NETWORK AND INTERNET SETTINGS. (left click) brings up a box with VPN, NIGHT LIGHT, ACCESSIBILITY,
    NEARBY SHARING, AUDIO CONTROL.

Lo and behold, went through setup one more time and got extender connected. Stupid mistake of entering the wrong information.
