    Hi everyone!
At work I have a Windows 10 workstation and I would like to set it up to make a daily backup of it's entire c: drive. From looking around, it seems that Windows won't create an ongoing schedule for image backups and others say they do a "system image" (windows files/drivers only?).

Can you advise on this? Reliable and capable is most important. One singular task, daily (and hopefully good at image/drive restoration, too).

    Thanks, Larry

I am emailing EaseUS and Aeomi support to find out about the above and also if they can do the image copy with the PC alseep. Do both companies have great reputations for both backup and restoration?

Are you sure that your work or IT Dept. would approve of this? If you have an IT Dept. they could have something set up to do their own and block anything else.

I am, in effect, the IT dept (uh-oh!) for a very small office. We don't have anything that does this yet (about 30 years overdue, right?) The server is covered with both a raid array and Barracuda Cloud Backup. Workstations (5) c:\ drive, nada.

Once I settle on software, I'll p/u 6 500Gb external HDDs for the purpose.

    Bill, thanks for your input.

Any experience-based thoughts on EaseUS and Aeomi ?

EaseUS confirmed my needs would be covered. Aeomi's customer service seems to leave something to be desired. Thanks

I have used EaseUS Home backup for many years now to do daily backups of files and Outlook without any problems. They do have disk imaging which I have not used only because I have been using Image for Windows

Hi RL- It seems so but I am waiting for Aoemi to give me a coherent reply to my inquiry. Thanks

Thanks SD- I will ck it out. Do you know if a scheduled backup will initiate through sleep or hibernation?

I thought image backups must be done while the system is inactive.

Since my SSD slides out the front of my computer, I simply put it in my cloner once a week.

Sabrent USB Type-B Dual Bay SATA Docking Station and Cloner, with no computer required.
Perfect clones every time, no computer required. $39.99

When doing normal daily backups, I am using my computer while it is creating a backup.

Wow, that is quite a system.

I think (maybe errantly so) that my needs are simpler than your setup. At work, I want each of 5 workstations to automatically do a daily full image backup of c:/. That's it. If the software can work through a sleep or hibernation state, then I can schedule it for over night when no one is working. Figured on using an external SSD for reliability.

Looking good!!! One hopefully final issue is that I cannot find a place in the Definitions on what to do upon completion of a scheduled backup. If I run one immediately, the screen gives me choices but Definition based on only says Shutdown (checked or unchecked). Would you know if this is one of the lost features in the free version of v.8?

    Thanks, Larry

Shutdown is the only option I know of. I simply keep using the computer throughout and beyond the end of the backup. It's using a shadow copy so all of the files on the drive are undisturbed. Then at the end of the day I do a normal shutdown.

Right! One can operate normally during a backup as long as it is not a huge resources draw or data alteration. I suppose that the VSS storage capacity could be increased but this is definitely out of my wheelhouse. Do you do a full disc/exact copy image or do you use incremental or differential?

    Thanks!

I just had a salesperson from Macrium email me asking if I had some questions. Yes!!! I'll mention anything interesting in his reply.
