I have a PDF that has printed all pages 2-up. i.e. it is landscape with a page on the left and a page on the right. So page 1 of the PDF is page 1 & page 2 of the 'real' document, page 2 of the PDF is pages 3 & 4, and so on.

I have tried numerous internet searches to find out if/how to convert that to back to 1 page per "page". All I end up with is how to convert the 2-up pages as "4-up" (or more).

Does anyone know how to do this - convert a PDF with 2-pages per page back to a 1-page per page PDF?

    Thanks.

    Thanks for your suggestion.

I've tried a search like that and a lot of the links I've already seen. The one I've avoided so far is the top one (How to split PDF files | Adobe Acrobat) because it requires to install a trial of Acrobat [not just the reader]. I had a bad past experience with this software and it took ages to clean my machine of everything it installed including the "Adobe Cloud" references! However I may just have to turn to trying it. Problem is I don't want to have to pay over $35 per month for something I would only have an occasional need of. I'd be happy to pay a one-off to get a fiel done when it's needed.
All the other search results I tried, which have been many, talk about ..
    • Combining pages onto one where as I'm looking to reverse that result.
    • One link does talk about taking the left side page of each page off into a separate file, repeat same for the right side, then have you manually merge the pages one at a time from each ie "merge like a zip" as some road signs we have tell you.
This merger technique is not really a practical solution for my 121 page document (meaning 242 actual pages).
    • Lots of the links talk about "split[ting]" PDF pages but when I look into them they're talking about extracting a specific set of page numbers - e.g. "print" using some PDF printer driver/software page ranges such as "25-50" or "2-5,25-41". Again it's not splitting up a page into 2 pages but in this case extracting a portion of the pages in the PDF in another PDF that would still have 2 pages within each one "PDF page".
I already have PrimoPDF installed to do these sorts of things, along with "Microsoft Print to PDF".
Another option would be to scan it thru an OCR to reformat the file as a DOCX doco and then reprint it but that would come with scanning errors needing correction and in the current document I have it's in a language I cannot read/understand.

In the meantime I'll just keep looking.. searching thru the results in case something pops out at me.

Yes, it would be a way (as per my 3rd bullet item) ... but my reading of it is it's a manual process for 121 pages (242 when "split out") & therefore would be rather labour intensive. It doesn't describe a process where you can tell it to "run this process across all 121 pages in PDF and create a 242 page version" :(
PS: Foxit PDF Editor is a $148/yr product.

My only other suggestion would be to contact Foxit either directly or through a Forum to see if there is a way to overcome your problem.
I use the Foxit Reader FREE version only which has always been easy to follow and use for opening pdf's.

Brilliant answer! Took longer to download and install Briss, and Java, than to actually run the pgm and get *exactly* what I needed.
Many many thanks for finding this for me.

The end is near for Java 7, a nearly 11-year-old release of standard Java. Oracle is set to discontinue extended support for the platform at the end of July 2022. With the cessation of official Extended Support, Java 7 goes into Sustaining Support mode as defined by the Oracle Lifetime Support Policy.Jul 26, 2022 Lots of people have dumped it years ago.
