Simple, low-overhead free image viewer?

Looking for an image viewer to replace "photos" in Windows 10. Primarily to run slide shows in zoom presentations.

Photos can be a bit temperamental, can cause the shell extension to start hogging CPU, and doesn't always show things in the proper alphanumeric order. There are a plethora of apps out there, but wading through them is cumbersome, and it's hard to tell which ones will be bloated, take up huge resources, or constantly nag for paid upgrades.

Ideally it would be nice if it could handle videos, or links to videos, as well, but I know that might be putting it in another category entirely.

It's a simple request, just curious if anyone knows of anything, they've tried and liked?
