After upgrading my PC to AMD Ryzen 5 and ASUS B550M mobo and fresh installation of W10 Pro, I can no longer login to some secure sites. Get "Secure Connection Failed" screen or something similar. Any suggestions?

What browser are you using? Have you tried a different browser?

Are you using Defender or a 3rd party AV?
    Are ALL updates installed?

Edge, Chrome, Firefox all 3 give some version of "connection was reset" message. So far I've only come across 2 sites that I can’t access.

Defender firewall and Malwarebytes Premium, same as before upgrade. Everything is up to date.
Update: I just discovered that my laptop, running the same software, has no problem with those sites, so I took a look at my security settings. On my laptop, "Always register Malwarebytes in the Windows Security Center" in Malwarebytes was turned off and in Windows Security>Security Providers, Defender Antivirus was on. On my PC with the problem, in Security Providers, Malwarebytes was on and Defender Antivirus was off. So I made the change in Malwarebytes on my PC and now it shows Defender Antivirus is on, and my problem is gone. Now I remember going through this before, a long time ago when I first got Malwarebytes Premium.
Thank you so much, guys for trying to help.

I am also using Malwarebytes Premium on 3 computers for last 5 years with it as being primary anti virus. Haven't faced any problems.

Well the Malwarebytes setting was not the problem, as it's come back. Not only does it still affect the two secure sites that have been a problem all along, but today I was on Amazon when it abruptly shut me out with the "Secure Connection Failed" screen. Then a couple of minutes later, I was back on Amazon. I've been all over the security settings on my PC and I can find no differences between it and my laptop which has no problem with the same secure sites. I have turned off Malwarebytes, Defender A/V and Firewall and that has no effect on the problem. This thing is driving me nuts!

Oh yeah I've been all over that many times. Just end up going around in circles. One time running the network troubleshooter seemed to fix it briefly but I'm inclined to think it was just a coincidence. I'm beginning to wonder if it's related to my new hardware.

    What Service Build Number?
    All updates installed?
Have you run sfc /scannow to make sure Files are OK?

    Edition Windows 10 Pro
    Version 21H2
    Installed on ‎8/‎10/‎2022
    OS build 19044.2075
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4180.0

    Windows is up-to-date.

    sfc /scannow
    :

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them.
For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at
windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline
repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag.

I also installed the drivers from the disk that came with the mobo, which I hadn't done, and none of the above had any effect on my problem.

I'm running out of ideas, but one thought as I don't see it mentioned, have you switched off your Modem/Router for 30 seconds, then restarted it to allow it to reset its status?

Done, no change. I'll also add that I currently have both AT&T and Xfinity internet and the problem is present on both. Since it showed up after migration to my new PC hardware and everything else is unchanged, it's now looking very much like a hardware problem to me. I see there are 2 BIOS updates available for my mobo so I'll investigate that. Otherwise it's a nuisance I guess I'll just have to live with.

Listen, I really appreciate you going all out to try to help me resolve this thing. You rock!

Can you post the two URL's in question?

And also, as I mentioned earlier, "...today I was on Amazon when it abruptly shut me out with the "Secure Connection Failed screen." This has happened more than once on Amazon.

Thanks but I called them when I first had the problem. Also, like I said above, the problem is only on my new hardware. My Android phone and my two laptops running W10 have no issues.

    Just one further thought.
Start > Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other Trouble shooters > Internet.

Done that several times. Once it seemed to resolve the problem briefly, but it was most likely just a coincidence. I've opened a support case with ASUS. We'll see where that goes....
