Start Key on Keyboard not Working

Hello.

Recently I have noticed that the win key on my keyboard is not functioning to bring up the start menu, nor to run any keyboard shortcut. I tried another keyboard on which the start key worked fine.

Both keyboard are wired and every other key works completely fine. There doesn't seem to be any driver updates in Device Manager.

 

If the Win key works fine with one keyboard, but not another, pretty good clue the first keyboard is bad.

 

I suppose it's possible the keyboard with the non-functioning Windows key is a "fancy" programmable keyboard (and the Windows key is programmed to do some other task - or nothing at all).

To test that theory, I would plug the "bad Windows key" keyboard into a different Windows "computer #2" and see if the Windows key functions properly. ...

If the Windows key still does not function with computer #2, then I would conclude the Windows key (or its connecting circuitry) is broken.

If the Windows key functions properly with computer #2, then I would suspect the keyboard settings/programming of your original computer #1 needs adjustment.
