    Hi Folks,

So I'm getting into video editing (Using FilmoraPro). But when I try to export, I'm getting the following error messages "bad allocation" and "GL_OUT_OF_MEMORY"
My current set-up is a Dell Optiplex 7050 with 64 GB DDR4 RAM and a Core i7-7700 processor.
In task manager I see I have gpu0 (Intel HD Graphics 630) and gpu1 (AMD Radeon T R7 450). It seems that only gpu0 is active though.

I've been able to export video just fine before just so long as the videos were around 5 minutes or less. But this one is about 10 and a half minutes and the export fails at around the 40% mark usually. And every time I export, the CPU is running near 100% and the RAM is using up 40-50 GB (even if I have no other applications open). I thought perhaps that this was a problem because I was trying to export in 4K for the first time. However, I have since changed my project settings and export settings to good ole 1080p and I'm still having these issues.
I'm not sure what the problem is. If not the gpu then I don't know what it could be.

I would very much appreciate any advice on this. Thank you in advance.

Hi Vinny Mac, Welcome to WindowsBBS.:)

As I read it, Graphics 630 is in the Intel CPU (Core i7-7700). Builtin.
You must have an AMD Radeon T R7 450 Graphics card installed. Where does your Monitor plug in at the M/Board?
You would need to check in the BIOS to enable the Radeon card.

You don't mention the size of your Drive storage. HDD or SSD?
This will probably determine why you get the message: "GL_OUT_OF_MEMORY"

    From a google search:
This bad allocation problem has been driving me crazy on a 10 minute simple video project of mine. Finally, I changed the power and sleep settings in my computer and extended them to an hour. I found that my computer was going to sleep during the rendering process and may have limited access to memory and processing power at a critical time. It may have been luck. But that is what worked for me.

You could also check the system BIOS and see if more memory (shared RAM) can be allocated to the onboard GPU. Your Radeon graphics card has 2 GB of memory., which may not be enough for the software you are using if yiur videos are HD videos. Per the system requirement of your software:
    https://filmora.wondershare.com/tech-spec.html
    • Graphics : Intel HD Graphics 5000 or later; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 700 or later; AMD Radeon R5 or later.
2 GB vRAM (4GB required for HD and 4K videos).

I saw that same thing when I searched google. Didn't help any. My sleep settings were set to an hour already.

I don't know how to get into the BIOS. I tried hitting F2 and F12 upon start-up. But nothing happened.

I went ahead and bought a DisplayPort to HDMI cable so that I can connect my monitor to the AMD graphics card.
If it's still not good enough to export 4K video, is there a graphics card that you suggest that has 4BG vRAM and is compatible with Dell Optiplex 7050?

Be very careful purchasing any Graphics cards currently. Crypto-mining has made cards very expensive and caused a shortage world wide.
There are thousands of GPU's being offered at inflated prices so it's like a mine field in the market place. And these are second hand units which have been under Max stress 24/7 for 3 or 4 months!

    Much obliged gentlemen.
The AMD graphics card that I have seems to fit the bill (per GPU-Z, it does have 4 GB of vRAM) I do believe that switching from my integrated gpu to the dedicated gpu will fix the issue. I should get my DisplayPort cable in a couple days. If I find that it works, I'll let you know and mark the thread as solved!
    Thanks again for your help.

The DisplayPort cable arrived. Upon plugging my monitor into the AMD card, it was automatically enabled. No need to go into BIOS. I finally was able to export the video.
