Okay, finally have an update on the MCTx64, but first a little background. The computer I was having problems with loading Win10 is about 5 or 6 years old, an old lightweight gaming machine that the 256 gig SSD had failed on, it also had a 1 TB HDD that it looked for when booting up. I was able to load windows using the MCTx64 but was unable to activate it, kept getting a message that the serial # was invalid. Kinda had me baffled since I had used the SN on the tag on the computer, finally realized it had originally came with Windows 7 and had been upgraded to 10, making the SN useless.

Tried to load Windows 10 the way I've always done, using my Hotmail email name and password, it worked but was still unable to register it, kept getting the same message, SN invalid (this was trying to use the original Asrock mobo, had a new one on the way but hadn't arrived yet). I kept thinking about the invalid SN message, got a brilliant idea to update the BIOS,figuring the SN was stored on the BIOS. WRONG, it was stored on a different chip on the mobo (I had disconnected the HDD and was just trying to load Windows on the new SSD).

After realizing there was no way around the stored SN I finally installed the new mobo that had finally arrived, being stubborn I decided to use the MCTx64 and was able to use netplwiz to disable having to use a password or PIN (this was all done without being connected to the internet). After Windows was loaded I connected to the internet and was able to activate it with a digital license linked to my hotmail account.

Would I do it again, NO WAY, there were over 30 updates to install on booting up due to the old MCTx64 files being so old after the original 30 plus updates there were more to istall, I was just curious to see if it would work, there was no rush to get the computer finished and I had the time so just wanted to try the MCTx64.

I learned several things doing it this way, if you choose the option to create a x32 and x64 version of Windows you wind up with a .iso over 8 GB, only had 1 extra flash drive that didn't have anything I needed to keep, tried to use it and it had died from old age just sitting around so was making a DVD to load Windows, the 8 GB would have taken a dual layer DVD to hold it, didn't feel like burning a dual layer DVD because it takes twice as long as a regular DVD to burn. Also, since I was just experimenting I tried loading Windows 10 Home, it's a lot smaller compared to Pro, also Pro is only x64, no option for a x32 version.

Sorry for the long post but wanted to let people know it can be done but isn't worth the extra time and effort to use it.
