Periodically, my computer shows as being connected but no internet. It is ethernet wired into the router. If I go to disable the ethernet adaptor and then enable it again, it is back to normal until next time but it is annoying. I have searched a number of fixes for this but none has worked.

    Suggestions appreciated

If it shows connected but no internet, that typically means the network adapter is fine.

Are other networked devices losing connection?

I would do a "cold" shutdown of your computer. By "cold" I mean to power down your computer, then unplug the power cable from the wall, or, if you computer's power supply has one, flip the master power switch on the back of the PC to "0" or Off.

While off, swap Ethernet cables. These cables are cheap, flimsy, easily damaged, but critical network devices. And I would connect the router end to a different Ethernet port on the router.

Then power up the computer and see what happens.

Does the disconnect happen while you're using the pc or after you've walked away and the network adaptors sleep mode kicks in?

Thanks but I have pretty well done all that based on what I found on searches. The internet is there but not to the ethernet port. I ha e fiddled with all yhe power settings in Properties on the device manager for the port but none of that has helped.

For what it is worth, when I have searched this it seems to be a fairly common occurrence and a number of suggestions offered but none of them have worked, at least not for me.

Have you checked your BIOS settings are not set to power saving?

Don't know about bios. Power Management turn off is disabled.
