I have been experiencing mouse and keyboard delays, things like the mouse ceasing to respond for a few seconds and characters I type delaying their appearance on the screen. This started around the same time I installed EXIF Pilot several days ago. I am not concerned that EXIF Pilot is the cause of this problem as it is reputable software that a lot of people in my photography forum use (Digital Photography Review - DPReview.com) and have recommended and I downloaded it directly from the developer's web site.

Anyway, I just now started the uninstall for EXIF Pilot and got the following warning (See Attachment) which I have no memory of ever seeing before. I am the only one who uses this computer and I live alone so should I be concerned I have been Trojaned?

Update: I just now uninstalled about four other trial softwares and got the same warning on all of them. Screenshot 01-20-2021 03.58.49.jpg

For grins, bring up Task Manager and look in the USERS tab.

BUT, if for example you open/run an application and then go to uninstall it, Windows can some times think it is still running.... A simple reboot before you uninstall would help.

Thanks for that advice. I found another user, WGA(something). Could not delete the user nor remove many lines in the registry that contained that text string so I ran Malwarebytes and Tron and it took an inordinately long time to shut down afterward. I waited about a minute and a half and forced a shutdown by holding in the power switch.

Here are the notes I made:
01/20/2021 Ran Malwarebytes and Tron, shutdown took an inordinately long time. On restart, I got a RunDLL error as follows: There was a problem starting C:\Temp\BJGONO~1.DLL. (definitely a "J", not an "I") The specified module could not be found. Nothing found in Windows Registry, nor in a Google search about this name. RUNDLL32.EXE was found in the Windows Startup group. Checking properties showed Target: C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe C:\Temp\BJGONO~1.DLL,UzccfItlBQ==

I will assume all is well unless something else happens.

I would start a separate post in the malware forum here. There should be NOTHING running from that TEMP directory when the computer boots.

Agree, almost always a sure sign of malicious software running on your system.
