    Hello,

Just 2-3 days ago my DCIM folder was working just fine, today I put my SD card into the reader slot, and nothing! I can't even see the SD drive when I look under This PC -

Any suggestions on how to find it, and how to get it back? I sincerely would appreciate it.

    Thank you,
    Sandie Knapp

Hi Sandie, This is what I do to view photos in the cellphone:
How to View DCIM in an Android
    1. Connect your Android device to your computer with a micro-USB cable. Tap "Turn on USB Storage," then touch "OK" or "Mount."
    2. Open Windows Explorer. Double-click the new drive under "Devices with Removable Storage." Double-click "DCIM". Double-click "Camera" to view pictures and videos stored on your device, or click ".
I'm assuming your SD card came from your phone/camera?
I have a portable card reader with USB connection to the comp and I just tried that with a SD card.
It shows in the comp as USB drive "G" and DCIM shows immediately in Explorer.

Is the card reader slot clean?
If the comp is not seeing the card in the reader - have you Shut down your comp and Started again with the card in the reader?
It should show under Removable Drive?

    Hello Retired,

Actually, I'm referring to my SD card reading in my Window10 desk-top computer. The SD card is from my digital camera, and it has always worked with no problems in the past. I did reboot, but I have not yet shut down the computer totally and then reboot after a short rest. I can try that and see if it works. If so, I'll let you know.

    Thank you,
    Sandie

    Hello Retired,
I shut down and booted back up. This morning my PC was showing the SD drive, and when I clicked on that, my DCIM folder was where it was supposed to be. All is well with my world. Thank you for your help.

    Sincerely,
    Sandie
