I'm trying to re-build a damaged computer. I have Win@kPro installed & allup to date. DSL installed & working & the backup dialer. Added some apps. then defragged C. Since that it has been booting VERY slowly & sits at the autologon screen for 30 secs or more. Now I discover that Network & dial up connecitons folder is empty. Lost botht e dial & the DSL connection & "add new conneciton "

    Any help would B appreciated.

Shutdown takes 1-2 min and Ctrl panel won't list the hardware devices.

There should be some interesting errors in your event logs with these problems. Likely one or more will give some clues.

    "Damaged" - what went wrong?

And a bad memory stick can cause this behavior but so can a few other items so ... Back to significant events.
