My laptop has started booting into a screen to set up a Microsoft account. I don't want a Microsoft account and I see no option to stop the annoyance.

How do I get rid of it?

Hi Alex, can you start in Safe mode and access User Accounts in Settings?

    Hi,

Can you show us a screenshot of what you are seeing in Windows 10? Is the user account a local account on Windows 10?

The problem bothered me for days but after I posted here, it never happened again.

    Sorry to have bothered you.

I have just experienced your problem or something similar.
This laptop which is barely 10 months old just received MS update KB4562899 yesterday.
On Start up it showed the Lock screen and required me to sign in!

I have used netplwiz on all my comps to avoid this hassle so it was the first thing I checked to see if it had changed.
The box was unchecked and was as I had set it.
On Shut down and Startup it again wanted me to sign in and also a message said they were unable to connect at this time.
My Internet (WiFi) was connected so there was a real bug somewhere.
I Shut it down again and then did a Start up with the same problem.

I signed in with my Password and once it had settled down properly, I went into netplwiz again and checked the box and closed out and Shut down the laptop.
I Started it and signed in and went into User Accounts and UNchecked the box and clicked Apply then entered the Password twice and OKed out.
Shut down and then Restarted again and a miracle had occurred - it was back to normal again - no sign in or Password required.
A long-winded job which I should not have to do after an Update!

This may be the only way round this MS bug unless someone reads my Feedback at MS.
