After searching this title, all results are out-of-date. Things move on (I'm on 1909, MS tells me although I'm up-to-date my computer is not yet ready for "Feature" update 2004 yet , whatever that means).
I have successfully disabled the lock screen and the sign-in screen for when I boot up the machine, but after hibernation or sleep it still insists on asking me for my sign-on. Surprisingly, I only need to press the spacebar for it to go away. Can anyone tell me what I have to do to skip that screen altogether and go straight to the desktop as it does from a re-boot?

Have a look in Settings > Accounts > Sign in Options > Require sign in > set to Never.

I don't have a "Require to sign in" option. The list of features is:
    Windows Hello Face
    Windows Hello Fingerprint
    Windows Hello PIN
    Security Key
    Password
    Picture Password
    Dynamic Lock

All of the above are switched off.

Thanks to Ten Forums on a Google search.
I suspected that something had removed it:eek: as ALL my comps/laptops have the option.;)

Great, thanks for that. Now all I need to do is find out what! One thing I did discover is that all the computers in this household are using Win-10 Home, except this one, which is Pro. Would that be a clue?

NO. I have 2 Desktops running W10 Pro, 1 Desktop and 2 Laptops running W10 Home and 1 Desktop dedicated to W10 Insider Preview. All are 64bit OS's.
I have a MS account for all the comps (same email and Password).
I have Run netplwiz and unchecked - users must enter a user name and password to use this computer - on all of them.
I have not Checked anything else that you list in your Post #3.
I just want to Start my comps and use them - not spend time remembering and entering specific Passwords. (my personal choice).
I use W10's builtin AV (Defender) and run Malwarebytes weekly.

The plot thickens... I have Winaero Tweaker installed, which includes an item entitled "Require a Password on Wakeup". The check box was empty, but I checked it and clicked on the provided button labelled "Open advanced settings of a power plan". The Power Options box opened and showed an item "Require a password on wakeup" with settings for battery or plugged in. Both had options, Yes/No, and I changed both to "No". Hey Presto!!! the computer now goes straight to the desktop.
BTW, I still don't have the item "Require sign-in" under settings!

I can only suggest you try sfc /scannow which should indicate if files are missing.
Right click Start > Windows Power shell (Admin) and type text as shown with space between c and forward slash - then enter.
