Good to know. I knew it was available for download but I've somehow managed to stay busy with other priorities. You are about the 10th person I know who has upgraded without reporting problems - always good to hear. If Windows Update does not pick it up soon, I will manually download and install it too.

For sure, I will be updating and creating a new W10 installation media in case I ever need to re-install W10 from scratch. I recommend everyone do the same. See https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

    Cool!

That said, I am still waiting for the claims that Microsoft is evil for forcing these changes on us.

Bill, this is what you were waiting for:
Windows 10’s May 2020 Update has some bugs
Despite a long development process with plenty of time for bug fixes, it looks like Windows 10’s May 2020 Update has a variety of bugs. It looks like most of the problems involve issues with third-party drivers and peripherals. Microsoft is working on fixing them.

Windows Update shouldn’t offer the update on any PCs it will have trouble with. We recommend against installing the new update using the Update Assistant tool, which skips Windows Update’s usual compatibility checks.

This quote is from How to Geeks and the clincher for me is the sentence about what causes most of the problems.
My Desktop comps extras are MS Webcam and HP printer and Bluetooth dongle.
I don't seem to have those bug problems when new updates come automatically.
Interestingly MS adds the dongle drivers after the update is completely set up.

I am keeping off the update for at least 15-20 days. Don't want to mess anything in this lockdown.

The installation came to a stop at 84%. Two hours later it was still at 84%. I pressed and held the power button and the pc turned off and then on again and eventually the new sparkling Windows 10 appeared. The problem was that, apart from a few utilities on the desktop, EVERYTHING I had in the previous installation was now gone! It was like the desktop you'd see when you buy a new computer. Deciding not to cry over spilled milk, I rebooted the pc and a message appeared saying that Windows was now gathering material from a previous installation....... Then, slowly but surely, the icons, folders and shortcuts which had previously cluttered my desktop began to pop-up until, one by one, everything returned once more. What a relief! All is well and working fine,

Well, FWIW, I upgraded my two main PCs and my notebook today. No unexpected problems. I say "unexpected" because I did encounter one problem I was anticipating - the update wiping out my Windows 7 games. :(

Ever since W8 was first released, Microsoft insists we don't need or want the old style W7 versions of Spider Solitaire, regular Solitaire, Minesweeper or FreeCell and several other games. Well, they are wrong. I prefer those old versions. Not sure if it is the Luddite in me, or if the classics were just better but I prefer them.

Fortunately, Winaero makes it pretty easy to bring the old versions back by following the instructions here and I am happy to say it works with W10 2004 too. If you want the old games, this is how you get them. Note, if you get a prompt to click a link to fix Windows, ignore that. That's just an ad for the free site to get some revenue for their efforts in providing this to us for free.

I note too, once you restore the old versions of those game, all your old statistics are restored too. :)

Beyond that and extremely important to me is I like and use the old XP era Quick Launch toolbar with Start 10. Those both returned, appeared, and function exactly as expect them too. :)

On my two main systems, I have (and don't understand how anyone can live without) two monitors with a wide assortment of shortcut placed and displayed on both exactly how "I" want them. After the update, the displays on both monitors on both computers were exactly as expected. :) :)

A little too safe but with Windows you don't know at least on production systems.

Yesterday on my LapTop (W10 Home), I was informed that it was not ready for version 2004. A waiting optional update was apparently installed (listed as such) without my consent. Today it is no longer listed as installed but has reappeared as waiting to be installed.

Nothing yet on my DeskTop (W10 Pro upgraded from W7 Pro).

No, it was KB4497165: Intel microcode updates which since my post magically has disappeared from the list of installed updates and reappeared as an optional update. My system is AMD-based and I'm looking forward to the entertainment tomorrow on "patch tuesday" ... ... !

Both my remaining units have updated to Version 2004 successfully one on the 7th and the other on the 10th June.
I'll have to check the comp my wife used to use as that has not been in use for a few months.

Tried updating to Version 2004 on my 5 year old laptop by downloading ISO. After 3 hours and 98%, it rolled back to previous version. Guess my laptop is not compatible yet.

My LapTop is sitting with a note that it is NOT YET compatible but there is nothing I should do at the moment. I wonder how it will be made compatible when noone is doing anything and I wait in anticipation!

I have a hunch that it's all about releasing the upgrade in a, for Microsoft, "timely" manner. It has nothing to do with my hardware not being ready for it but that MS servers can't upgrade all the first week.
