    Hi Everyone,
Hope you are all staying safe and your systems have not been infected with a software version of Covid-19......that will be the next thing!!!!

My son managed to delete around 350GB of family movies that were on his hard drive!!! I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good software to use to recover these lost files? I'm assuming that most free software will only allow you to recover a small amount before asking you to upgrade to be able to download larger file amounts

You could try Recuva. Here is a little note on it.

    Does recuva really work?
Yes, as great as Recuva is it won't work all the time. Sometimes Windows has overwritten the area where the file used to be, or sometimes the file is too corrupted to recover. Recover files you've deleted securely. ... Recuva is not capable of recovering data over a network.

It also applies to any other software.

Best advice to enable any recovery - DON'T USE THE DRIVE!!!
As MrBill stated any use of the drive will OVERWRITE what you want to recover.

Thanks MrBill, but recuva doesn’t show me the files I lost, not sure why, but iBersoft does, only problem is it wants £50 for the pleasure. I can identify the files on this software but not on recuva?
