Resolved Microsoft Edge new update.

Has anyone else experienced Microsoft Edge new update. In my case, it was installed by Microsoft without knowledge to me, and this has caused my computer to work with extreme difficulty. Edge opens up, with a window so small it requires one's sight to be 20/20 +, this vision that I have not. In recent days have read as to the great improvements having been made, well I am far from being impressed. Again, in trying to sign in to BBSWINDOWS, displays a similar page to Edge. Is this happening to everyone?

 

Saw on another forum that they had the new edge and liked it. Said it was faster than the old one and lots more features. No slow downs.

Mr Bill, thank you for response. Reference you show, refers to Edge 2017, as current Edge is either to be installed, but find no trace in Microsoft update. Issue that I refer, apparently has rectified itself and other carry on experiences today, error has now rectified itself without further steps by myself. Edge and WindowsBBS screens' are functioning satisfactory again, thank goodness.

 

I've been using it for a couple weeks now and really like it. In fact, it is now my default, replacing Pale Moon as my preferred. I have not seen any problems like you describe.

My only complaint is not their fault. And that is I have to teach a new spell checker a bunch of uncommon/technical words all over again. Oh well.

For those not familiar, the "new" Edge is a totally different from the old Edge that originally came with W10. MS totally abandoned that one, and based the new Edge on the open source, Chromium engine. So, on purpose, the new Edge is about 99% like Chrome and MS and Google are working in concert to continue to improve it.
