I have a fresh install of Win 10 and I typically change the users system folders like Favorites, Music, Documents, etc. to another drive; in my case, a separate hard drive.

I have changed everything with the exception of the Documents folder. When I open properties for the folder, there is no option to set the location of the folder. Further, when I look in the registry, there is no Documents folder listed as you can see in the attached images.

I have done this since Win XP but have never come across this situation before.

    Any thoughts? Thanks

I see why (possibly). The Documents folder is connected to my OneDrive account nad the path for the folder is
    C:\Users\me\OneDrive\Documents

It wont let me restore the default location either. The error says "cant move the folder because there is a folder in the same location that cant be redirected. Access denied"

I have uninstalled OD from teh computer but I still cannot move it

What do you find when you check the "save location" for the documents folder? Go to Settings - System - Storage - Save locations?

The behaviour is strange. I have upgraded a system from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro. On W7 (a dual boot with XP) I moved the user folders to a dedicated data partition E: (to be accessed from both operating systems). Now, when running W10 (still a dual boot with XP), everything works like before with documents and other user files being saved on E: but the storage locations in "Settings - System - Storage - Save locations" refer to C:!

Sorry for the delay in returning. Here is what I have found.
As I wasn't very far into configuring the system, I decided to start the reinstall again. I deleted all partitions and reformatted the SSD. I then went through the install process but did not connect the computer to the internet. I set up a local user and was able to move all of the system folders to the D drive as I have always been able to. I then connected it to the internet and all remains good, however, I still have not created a Microsoft user account yet. Thus far, I don't have the need for one. If I get time this weekend, I will retry this process on another computer I have in the office and add in an MS user account during the setup to see if the installation creates the same situation of locking me out of moving the Documents folder.

As for Chister's suggestion, this is what I see in Settings - System - Storage - Save locations.
C Drive shows no content in the user system folders.
D Drive shows the content that should be there so it would appear to be set up as intended.
Trying the setup on another machine will let me comment further on your thoughts.

    Thanks

    Thanks for the feedback!

I have the same, no content in the default storage locations.

I'm looking forward to your return with more insights!
