On my LapTop, since upgrading to Windows 10 Home 32-bit version 1909 from version 1903, no Malicious Software Removal Tool has been downloaded and installed. Is that how it should be?

It downloads and installs fine on my Windows 7 64-bit system.

Downloading from the Microsoft Update Catalog is a workaround, not a fix. I'll look around to see what I find.

    Thanks!

When checking for MSRT Downloads and Installs they are no long shown along with other monthly installs. In Updates and Security go to Update History and then scroll all the way down to a listing that says Other Updates. You will find the MSRT updates listed there. You may very well find the November update listed there under the same date you received version 1909, at least that is what mine shows. Plus I received the December updates yesterday and MSRT is not listed with the December updates BUT it IS listed in that Other Updates list.

No Other Updates, the heading doesn't show until the first uppdate gets installed, I guess. In Updates and Security, when updates show up awaiting clearance to download and install, not a single MSRT has been among them since version 1909.

Version 1909 was installed on 2019-11-14. The first updates were installed the same day, KB4524570, KB4522742 and definitions for Defender but no MSRT. On 2019-12-10, KB4530684, KB4533002 and definitions for Defender were installed but still no MSRT. However, today MSRT for December 2019 was offered and installed.

It seems like installing the upgrade to 1909 on the same day as the other updates were released has confused the system. Today it was indicated that all updates may not be offered on "patch tuesday".

I have had that before more than once. Get updates and then a couple of days later get more updates. Never really pay attention to them to see if they are updates/patchs to fix a ******* up update.

I was under the impression that upgrades from one version to the next were not offered to all users at the same time but rolled out. Updates to an installed version on the other hand would be released to all users on patch tuesday.

I do because I want to know what destroyed my computer ... ... see my thread in the Windows 7 section.
