I'm new to W10 and am trying to set Firefox as my default browser. Going to Default Apps and clicking on Web Browser (which is defaulted to Edge), it gives me choices of Edge, Chrome, IE or look for an app. Firefox is installed and functioning, so why is it not an option for me?

How do I set Firefox as my default browser in Windows 10?
Use the Settings app in Windows 10 to change your default browser
    1. Go to the Windows Start menu and click the Settings icon.
    2. Click Apps, then choose Default Apps on the left pane.
    3. Scroll down and click the entry under Web browser.
    4. Click on Firefox in the dialog that opens with a list of available browsers.
    Or this way. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/make-firefox-your-default-browser

Apparently you didn't see that I said it doesn't offer Firefox as a choice. That's true with either method you gave.

I always set Firefox as my Default browser WITHIN Firefox itself, no matter what the operating system.
In Firefox go to Tools, Options, General and click Make Default.
Even though EDGE is automatically set as Default browser in Windows 10 when you set Firefox as the Default from within Firefox then the Windows Settings app will automatically open with the Choose default apps screen. Scroll down and click the entry under Web browser. In this case, the icon will say either Microsoft Edge or Choose your default browser. In the Choose an app screen, click Firefox to set it as the default browser.

Thanks for your input, but "Choose your default browser" is not an option in Windows 10 Home, only "Look for an app in the Microsoft Store".

I have Windows 10 Home and I was not required to download any special app. By First choosing to make Firefox from WITHIN Firefox then the option will also appear in Settings -> Apps -> Default apps.

The last choice under Settings -> Apps -> Default apps -> Web Browser is Look for an app in the Microsoft Store. Firefox was not listed as a choice until after I reinstalled it.

Hi daddyo, Have you after installing Firefox, opened the Menu > Options > where as Judy stated you can set it to Default Browser?
The Menu I refer to is the Icon looking like 4 Pancakes on the upper right corner of the Firefox browser screen. You would know this without me telling you.;)
