Bobby, when you want to Save a Download, what destination is shown in the drop down box?

RL, select software, then click Save this normally carries it out to finish. Then clicking the Downloads icon on the Desktop screen, allows saved software to be opened later. If required for further use, save to a destination Hard drive or USB stick. Unfortunately this procedure is longer available. Today required to reinstall Windows 10 for another error relating to Internet. If the reinstall of Windows 10, has also corrected this error, I will advise.

You reinstall more than anybody I know. Don't know why you have to do this so often. That is usually a last option for something. You need to ask about something before you just start clicking and get in so deep that you have no other choice.

The downloads are going to the exact folder YOU told it to go to:eek:
In theory, you know the name of the file before you download it... You can SEARCH the hard drive and find all of them.

Bobby, You must have set where Downloads would be stored as Steve suggested. That is why I asked the question in my Post #4.
    https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=set+where+downloads+go+in+W10

1] Open the File Explorer on your Windows 10 PC. Right click on the Downloads in the left pane of your File Explorer, and select Properties. Go to the Location tab and enter the new path for your desired download folder. You can also move already downloaded files to the folder from here.

As MrBill Posted - you do seem to re-install W10 more frequently than other users.
You will be able to find your Downloads if you look in the Libraries.
Some may be in your Documents and others could be Pictures, do you have Public documents in your Library?
Have a look in the Google link as I think that should help you locate your Downloads.

Bobby, you know the 'name' required is your email address?
When you looked in this Properties section was your email address shown in the C:\Users\-------\Desktop\Downloads?

RL, sorry left that out in my last post. When I now click Downloads Icon on the Desktop, it now shows all listed software titles, but not refer to the actual software marked Saved at time of downloading from the Net. Certainly, this did not happened to me prior to now when only the actual software title being saved was shown in the Download. As far as I can see, no reference to the download being saved shows in for example Library.

I notice that after each Posting an Ad is displayed, is this the new norm now?

Bobby, what happens when you RIGHT click on START and LEFT click on FILE EXPLORER?
Do you see an Icon with Downloads this PC?
When you OPEN it what does it show?

I am unaware of Adverts showing after I Post a reply.

RL, It shows various files downloaded over several individual days, but not files saved from the Net addresses.
Regards to the Adverts' question, reading this Post, adverts are no longer showing. Puzzled, if however close it and again open it, Ad's are showing again. Opening the Post via mail posted from you, Ads' are definitely not show. Must be a Bug on my computer causing this.
    Two examples: all show ManageEngine-NCM.
    1. Config Tool Free Config Management Tool for Routers, Switches, Firewalls etc. (Open) View site.
2.VPN Built into the Browser. (Download).

Delete your bookmark for Windowsbbs and clear your cache and reboot. Then start over to see if you are still getting the Ads.

Mr Bill, can you please advise where bookmark and cache are located in Windowsbbs. Will let you know, if AD is sorted out. Certainly, Ad's are wasting space on my Post pages, and worse, its appears to be applying to me only.

Bobby, sounds to me like you need an ad blocker on your browser. If you reinstalled Windows 10 then any extensions, like AdBlockPlus, that you previously had on your browsers would have to be reinstalled. Windowssbbs would not have a bookmark and cache on the web site, both of those would be included or stored in your browsers. What browser do you use? That is also where you designate where you want your downloads from the internet to go.

jholland1964, I use Microsoft Edge to connect to the net. Connected to a Web site and selecting a software title to download and save. A caption displays [ Run Save Cancel]. Being on the safe side I always click the Save option. Up till now Software has been saved and showed in the Downloads Icon located on my Desktop. My memory has deserted me on this occasion. Could you please post on this page, as to correct procedure in setting up a Download Icon to enable me to correctly save all future "Save" to the Downloads Icon on the Desktop. Thank you.

    Happy to provide instructions and pictures;
1 picture shows :Top Right Corner of EDGE you will see 3 dots. Click those dots and at the bottom of the slide out box you will see a Gear marked Settings. Click on that
2 picture shows: Stay on General Settings and scroll down to the listing for Downloads. It is right there where you choose where you want your downloads to go. Mine go to my Desktop. They do not go into a folder there, they just go to the desktop after I have chosen Save
