too much spam coming into my hotmail account

I have a hotmail account and I access it through my Chrome browser. the url is outlook.live.com I think
I get hundreds of spam emails coming into my junk mail folder daily. The email addresses are always from some crazy email addresses so making rules or blocking the email does not work because it is always from some different email address.
Please, can anyone tell me how to control this?

I have one also from probably 20 years ago. I don't use it for anything unless it is something that I really want to look at on the web and they want an email address. Those places are far a few in between now. Same with my Gmail. It filters better than the Hotmail ever did. Don't think that there is really a good way to control this other than just don't open them and put them in the junk mail box.
