Resolved Importing photos/videos from iOS thru Window/Photos

I hope this is the right forum. Not sure if this is a hardware, a Win 10 or an Apple thing. I am figuring out how to transfer photo/videofiles from my iphone 8 to my Windows 10 via the Photos app.

I did so without erasing the files on my phone and ran into an issue where some images and vidoes would not transfer due to "catastrophic failure". On the phone, I looked at all photos and they all look good (not black aka corrupted) and all videos play properly. I have one group of 7 important short videos of which only 6 transferred and one said it was corrupted. I really need this one video, too. From the Windows Import Photos and Videos page, it only sees the 6 it previously copies, not the one it did not. My cohort suggested I edit the suspect video, shorten it by 1 sec, and resave. Did that and now Import sees it but when prompted to Import, still states "catastrophic failure" as to why it cannot import it.

Any suggestions on how to get around this roadblock?

Also it is hard to keep track of these files because Apple does not give you the file name and it seems that Windows/Photo renames them!

Well, I shortened and saved it again and now it imported. Is the Win/iOS bridge a little wobbly?? Thanks.
