I am running 98 OS and when I click on the start-programs, I have no program or window exployer. I would like to re-install at least those two. Second question is when I hit the tab key I go to a different screen, and its driving me crazy. HELPP Please

Well Wilky, you have me guessing with this one, but I will try to help with questions I do not fully understand ...

    Windows Explorer
    -----------------------
Down left on your Desktop, in the so-called taskbar, you have a
    Start Button.
RIGHT click it then click Explorer.
That should get you into Windows explorer.
If you want a desktop icon to it, right click on your desktop,
move your mouse cursor to New and click shortcut.
Click browse and look for explorer.exe in c:\Windows
    Click Next and then Finish.

Need more info on the Tab key problem - why do you use the Tab
key and in which program ?
    regards

Thanks for the reply. What I would like is when I click on the start tab, go to the programs tab, that is where I would like to add programs, such as word, ms prompt and so forth. As far as the 2nd question, I use the tab key for example when i'm filling out a questioniere and instead of clicking with the cursor, I use to be able to use the tab key.
    Tahnks again

    wilky,

Welcome to the board! Maybe this will help your Start menu question. Right click on the Start button. Go to Explore and click on the + sign next to Programs. Now just browse thru your system for the programs that you want there and create and shortcut under Programs. Your program will now be listed in the Start/Programs menu.

Not sure about the Tab key. I also use the Tab key to get through forms. Does it happen all the time or just on certain forms/web sites or all the time now?

Sounds like your keyboard has the alt key stuck. Need to hold your keyboard upside down and tap it to remove debris. Use air compressor or canned air for better results.

On a normally operating keyboard, if you hold in the alt key and click on the Start button, the menu will flash and go back off. Also your tab is acting like alt+tab.

Can you see the upwards bar after clicking on the start button?

Also with the Alt key being stuck-
    I am running Win98
If i hold the Alt key down and hit the tab, I get a little rectangle box of the open windows. Then i can choose which one i want.
Are you getting the same thing or something else?
