    Yes. Follow the path
    C:\Windows\System32\notepad.exe
and then right-click on notepd.exe and select "Create shortcut" That will be paced on your desktop.

    Done!

Already tried that, but can only find it as notepad.exe.mun in System Resources and if you try to open it it takes you to a box to search for an app. to open an .mun file, suggesting searching in MS-Store. None of the normal ways to create a shortcut work with notepad in Win 10, Ver 1903.

Does is still appear in the menu under Windows Accessories? If so, left click > drag to Desktop. Also, the new version of Notepad should be here:
    c:\windows\system32\notepad.exe

Have you tried right clicking on Desktop > New > Shortcut and type notepad.exe in the box? No issue in 1903 - for me at least :)

Tony T. , unfortunately it's not in C:\Windows\System32. I could only find it as a .mun file in System Resources. Tried Search and manual search.
PeteC., worked the charm. It was sooo easy and the shortcut is sitting on my desktop as we speak. Thanks a ton!!
