Some Desktop icons can copy to the taskbar with no difficulty. Find that some Web downloads to the Desktop will not copy to the Taskbar for easy access. Can this be achieved?, thank you. Bobby.

I'm on Windows 7 right now but right-clicking the icon gives a dropdown menu with the choice to attach to the taskbar.

Thank you for your responses. I agree in normal circumstances, but not in this instances. Web sight in this instance, WeatherPolmont.com, downloads OK with icon, but for some reason, the dropdown menu fails to show Taskbar.

    I can't find "WeatherPolmont.com" but "www.polmontweather.co.uk".

There is a link to Graphical weather now. (It gets the title "Current Situation".) Is that the link you have placed on your desktop and want to move to the taskbar? If so, neither can I get the "attach to the taskbar" option in the dropdown menu, nor can I "drag and drop". That seems to work only with links to programs, not with web links.

Christer, www.polmontweather.com is the same web site but arranged differently. If you are too unable achieve taskbar as I am, it must be not possible. At least what steps I carried out is correct. Thank you for proving the point. bobby.

That's not the link from your first post but almost the same as the one I posted. BUT - it has ".com" and not ".co.uk" at the end and I get the message that the webpage can't be found. No matter what, I can't get it to the taskbar but try what retiredlearner suggests.

Christer, as you suggested, I tried out retiredleaner suggestion. After some quick key strokes, within google, I obtained the required result. I will need to cover these steps again and take note for future requirements, as my memory is very short lived now. My sincere thanks to all who contributed their suggestions. Arie, solved my sign in difficulties, but again each sign in again requires me to sign in, even though the box is ticked.

Bobby, you can use Snipping tool to collect any info/photos on web sites.
Snipping Tool is located in Windows Accessories.
Start > scroll down to Windows Accessories > click on W A and scroll down to Snipping Tool > click S T and it will show on the page you wish to copy the info from.
You have the option to outline in 4 ways when you click on Mode.
I mostly use Rectangle - just click on the top edge of the info you want and keep the left button on your mouse depressed as you RED outline the snip by moving the mouse in a diagonal direction.
When you release your mouse button the "snip" goes into Paint and will display on your screen.
I usually click on Edit > Copy.
I then open Word and Paste to a new page where I can Print or Save to Documents or whatever I wish to do with the snip.
You need to close out Paint (don't save) and you're done.

Christer, yes indeed I mentioned signing in to BBS had been resolved by Arie, but now it is again required for me to sign into BBS. Or are you referring to the Task Bar question? if so, this is solved. Can show steps if anyone interested in carrying out this procedure. The BBS signing in, certainly shows gremlins.... are working overtime with this computer.
It is my fault, I apologise for inserting another question within a question.
RL, thanks for your post, noted. Bobby.
