I'm selling my older computer (Win10 Home 64 bit) to a friend I trust. I've deleted all personal data files, but I still am prompted to sign in with my Microsoft Account when starting. I'm the only user and logged in as administrator (yeah, I know we shouldn't do that). Before handing the machine over, I'd like to allow him to use his own MS Account for login. Also, is there a way to change the user account name? I've searched Google for an answer, and replies are either contradictory or confusing. Either that or I haven't stated my desires clearly.

I've looked at "Reset this PC" and "Fresh Start." and wonder if either would accomplish what I want. I'm not interested in keeping any apps.

If I had the installation media that would work. How about Reset or Fresh Start?

You can download Win10 from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10
You could setup the install with your friends MS account info or set it up with a local account. If you elect Local Account, the MS account can be created anytime later by your friend. As Evan Omo stated "I would Perform a clean install of Windows 10 which will remove all the data on that hard drive." A helpful video below.

Just ad a new Local Account (administrator account); use a generic name or the name of friend. Then log off and login as the new user. Then delete the original account.

Thanks for the advice. After doing more research, I did a Reset on the machine. It didn't take that long and did what I needed.

Did you check and make sure it was up to date also?
