Caption states TLS is corrupt or missing. Checked IE options-Advanced, find TLS box is ticked. Advice will be appreciated.

TonyT, thanks for your prompt response. I read a computer magazine each month, in which free eligible software of interest to me are offered for trial. To save time it uses a snipca program, however, entering the code displays that it can not connect as TLS is either corrupt or missing. I have used this method for several years without any trouble, but the new update Windows 10 1809 was installed this did not occur. Certainly since the update, many of my computer settings have been changed and not by myself..

I think you may only have 2 options Bobby. Either leave it as it is and wait for the Microsoft update which is being developed to clean up the bugs in the 1809 1st Release
or use the Restore in the Recovery option to go back to the 1803 version.

RL, good point, will do that and wait for MS update, thank you. Bobby. Another point that has arisen, at each power up, IE11 opens on screen.

TLS checked on the Registry, shows it is missing.

RL, a sfc /scannow was carried out, result showed "not find any integrity violation".

It is rather awkward as what appears a lost TLS restricts me with Web sites as the caption states unable to connect. I am unsure as to what has caused this error, no other computer users appear to be experiencing this error. As it appears, I am the only one, pointing to my computer makeup. What caused the removal of TLS from my registry, remains a mystery.

Bobby, if you go to Control Panel > Internet Options > Advanced > scroll down to Security > does it show SSL 3.0 - TLS 1.0 -TLS 1.1 - TLS 1.2 ?

RL. Checked Internet >Options>Advanced>Security- all four boxes appear ticked. Thanks.

Bobby, my Internet Options show the 3 TLS settings are checked but the SSL is not.
I have a funny feeling that there were changes to the Security settings about SSL a few years back.
    Maybe Arie can help here?

RL, I have checked again IE 11 Options>Advanced>security- 3 TLS boxes are checked and SSL 3.0 box unticked.

Arie, checked the Registry (did not note steps taken), showed that TLS was not shown. Checked IE 11 options>Advanced>Security, all TLS 3-Boxes where ticked.

I have no idea what that means....

I think the only problem is that you are trying to use incompatible software.

Bobby if your TLS is shown and ticked in IE Options surely it must be installed and working?

RL, I have no idea as to TLS is working, certainly the Registry doesn't show reference to TLS in the appropriate section.
