Windows 7 Home Premium.

Acer laptop was given to my granddaughter. Wanted it wiped clean. It had a screen flicker only when you opened up an app or program. Reset it to factory defaults. Got all the Win 7 updates. Updated the Video driver also while I was at it. Still has the screen flicker only when an app or program is opened. Any thoughts on this? Probably just let her use it till it goes so bad that she can't stand it.

 

Perhaps that was why it was given away.

Did you try an external monitor? That will tell you if the problem is with the notebook's graphic solution or the notebook's monitor. If the external monitor works, use the notebook as a desktop.

 

Didn't have a cord handy to do this with. Gave it back to them and told them what was going on. Don't know if Ram is used on boot up or is it just when a program or app is opened.
