    Hi friends

I have a LAN workgroup WGp, with desktops connected using cables and tablods using wifi. All these devices has fixed IP address with the usual IP config of 192.168.1.###.
In the desktops running win7, in the network icon i can see all devices in WGp.
In the tabloids running win10, i can see only the tabloid itself. Even though i cannot see others, i can use UNC to access all of them.

All devices has same username eg UserX with password. UserX has full access to all devices.

The win10 tabloid access the network via a Asus Router with the same IP config pattern as the rest. All devices including router has fixed IP address.

Scratching my head, just can't figure out why this is happening. Any light to brighten my day. Thanks.

After digging more, have any you experts play on this PIN vs Password angle?

    Quote
Open Start Menu and click open Settings. Select ‘Accounts’. Next, chose ‘Sign-in options’. To create a new PWd and hit the Change button under heading ‘Password’. Unquote

I had always log in with password, never with Pin or Picture, but no pcs in the neighbor network thus this head scratching post.

I am going to give it a new twist at this Setting > Accounts ie change the password and see what happens. Hope to come back with a good result.

Did the test at "Settings > Account" & change password just in case a log-in with PIN exist. Unfortunately nothing changed.
I also added another user with password, still nothing changed.

    BUT ...

Dig deeper into HomeGroup > Change Advanced Sharing Settings to recheck if 2 Turn On on sharing is selected. Next move into the "All Network" to allow public folder "sharing so anyone with network read public folders"

With this "All Network" move, more pcs in network start of appear. Any comments.

Sorry, I have never used Window Home Group, I've always used 'regular' networking, so I can't comment on your issues.

    How I do it:

    1. network & sharing center > advanced sharing > private > use user accounts and passwords to connect to other computers
    2. folder options > uncheck use sharing wizard
    3. control panel > administrative tools > services > set both homegroup services to disabled

Tony no luck after at doing at win10 v1709 Tabloid

1 network & sharing center > advanced sharing: At Private (current profile) can to "use user accounts and passwords to connect to other computers"
2 At services disable both HomeGroup i) Listener ii) Provider
3 Win Explorer File Options > View: deselect "use sharing wizard (recommended)"

Still can only see both win 10 tabloid in the tabloids but not the 2 win7 PC in the same workgroup. Win 7 PC can see all devices.

Could this be a router problem? Previous router all shown! :( o_O

    Not likely.
Did you set all the devices the same way as above? After that, reboot all devices.
