I am encountering really bad lag issues.. Games are lagging bad even Facebook type games. Web pages are loading really slow. Internet explorer Edge even google... I have ran speed test both from my ISP and speed test.net and a few others all showing good results and beyond what I am paying for... I pay for 60mbps down and 4mbps up and I am getting between 64 to 70mbps down and 5 to 6mbps up.. I even took the bottom off the laptop and blew it out with air.. The temps are good usually only around 70c when gaming.. even with my FPS set at the minimum in games it still lags.. Any ideas what might be going on ? The only other thing I have done was install a new 500gb SSD from Silicon power any idea what's going on ?

Hi jimbo0706, what has happened recently? Updates? Software downloads?
Have you cleaned Temp Files - run any scans - Malwarebytes or the like?
Any unknown Program showing in Control Panel > Programs and Features?

it has not even been a week since I installed the bigger SSD Drive and that was a clean install of windows 10 home.. I downloaded just a couple of things like CCLEANER dragon gaming center that came from my Laptops download page. I have also downloaded net frame work and a program I use to program one of my Police scanners. one game called Red Light Center a game I have been playing for 10 years.. And SteelSeries engine a tool that makes my keyboard light up.. And SCM another laptop program from my computer that makes my F Keys work.. I also did the latest windows patch on Thursday... all programs though are set not to start up at startup..

When did the problem 1st show up? Was it related to the MS Update?
When you say "patch" do you mean the Defender definitions?
Did the laptop operate smoothly and quickly after the install?

+by patch I mean what they call MS Update. seems like it was running fine till that latest update..July 16, 2018—KB4345421 (OS Build 17134.167) was the last update.. I have tried running a restore back to the first day I loaded windows 10 but it did not help.. I have 3 other PCs in the house and all are running fine.. just seems like its this one that is having issues..

Hi jimbo0706. Have you opened Task Manager to see if there is a certain process that is causing your CPU or disk usage to spike to 100%?

Lets see what is starting up with your machine.

Please download Autoruns. After you download the zipped folder on your desktop, right click the zipped folder and click Extract All. After the folder has been extracted open the regular folder. Run the autoruns.exe program by right clicking on it and selecting Run as administrator. When you open the program click the Logon Tab then post a screenshot of all the startup entries on the Logon Tab in your next reply.

It has been uninstalled. It is not showing in my add or remove folder or when I I search my pc for it. All I have done was download just the drivers.. was also told it could also be listed as rivet networks and I deleted all those as well..

In Autoruns on the Logon Tab, remove the following items:

    Realtek HD Audio Manager
    SCM
    CCleaner Monitoring
    OneDrive
    Skype
    Steel Series Engine 3

After you remove those items, reboot the computer and see how the computer performs.
