    Hi alanrf,
This link may remind you that we were advised quite some time back that Security changes were going to come into effect.
Can't connect securely to this page

These are 2 different topics which I think have been sorted out. The topic you started the Thread with has been treated as a bug which causes no operation to the OS and which MS are well aware of.

I will stand corrected if wrong. Cheers.

Post #18 was inj response to another completely OT post from BobbyScot. Not a new problem for sure.

Adding entirely new topics to the original thread should really be discouraged anyway - BobbyScot please take note.

I installed Group Policy Editor Home Edition as given earlier in this Post. However unable to see any reference on my computer. How can I check if this has been carried out? Bobby.

    1. Use the Windows Key + R keyboard shortcut to open the Run command, type gpedit.msc, and press Enter to open the Local Group Policy Editor.
    2. Browse the path Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update.
Bobby, this is the route to follow to enter GPE.

RL, thanks for your response and instruction. I have carried this out, and now have assess to GPE. Carrying out your further instructions, reading contents of GPE - realise that I am well out of my depth in this field. What happens at Windows Update? Thanks again RL, noted in what you have said should future requirements suffice it. Bobby.

This (GPE) has never been included in Basic/Home editions of Windows OS from way back and I guess you can understand why.
You really need to know what you're doing in there!

RL, I fully agree with you in what you say, certainly in my case far beyond my capabilities. Windows 10 Pro, is certainly as it say "Professionals" not suitable for novices like me. Thanks Bobby.
