@Evan, I'm running W10 and there is no Hide MS Services shown in Services.msc.
    msconfig
is where you can hide MS services.
Unchecking the other entries after hiding MS Services is what you want Bigal to do?

Yes, as shown in post #15 Bigal knows where to find this setting. The check mark Hide all Microsoft services is only available in System Configuration (available from Start > Run > msconfig), not from Services.msc.

Sorry for taking so long to respond. I usually get an email notifying me that I have a BBS message...not this time. I disabled (hiding Microsoft) all of the services in 'msconfig>>>sys config page, but SAS cannot be enabled..I getting confused about 'services.msc' page. There a lot of services there...do I disable all of them?

Yes. Your screen shot only shows 9 items in Services with MS hidden.

Yesterday the computer shutdown properly....strange! Will my pc be damaged if I have to use the power switch to turn it off all the time?

Properly means you clicked on Start > Power > Shutdown?
    What is it doing now?
Only your OS may be upset/confused - fortunately W10 is very robust and should sort itself out after Reboot.
Are you still using the Power Switch to shutdown the comp?

Without looking back to your earlier Posts - does the hold the Power button in for 5 or so seconds mean what you are doing?

    To clarify:
Is the comp back to normal or do you still have the Shutdown problem?

You only disable the 3rd party services in the Services.msc window and NOT any of the Microsoft services.

You really shouldn't be using the power button on your computer to turn the system off on a regular basis. Read this article for more information, The Power Cycle Mystery: Are Hard Reboots Dangerous.

I have a problem in deciding which are 3rd party services. The ones named Microsoft are no problem, but are all the other services 3rd party?

Only the services listed in your screenshot below are considered 3rd party services regardless if they are checked or not.

I don't know what I did...I tried to follow the advice given to me, so somewhere, the right thing was done because the computer has been shutting down without 'freezing' the last few days. I hope I didn't jinx it by saying this!! I'll see what happens for a few more days and then mark the thread as solved.:)
