rL Many thanks for the set up Virgin HUB.3.0 video, most appreciated. Caption shown in my Post Friday, looks as the set up for said modem, however, clicking button, appears to check but reports it is unable to fix it. This window opens at each boot up and always shows same result "Unable to fix it". I assume the window is part of the HUB 3.0. set up. Virgin insists trouble is caused entirely by a fault on my computer and it is up to me to find the solution. Bar the use of phone on line there is no other means to contact them other than the Virgin Forum whom appears to be in as much in the dark for a solution as I am. Except this Forum, has been very good in helping me and this I am grateful.. Modem lights at present, are solid white light constant on, Wi-Fi and net remain off.
The window caption appears to be "Diagnostic Tool", as the main function in connecting to the Internet is normal functioning. What I think really needed, is to how this Diagnostic tool can be removed or a written .bat file to remove it.

If there is no answer for your problem - I would try a Fresh install of W10.
If that doesn't remove the offending caption - I would change my ISP.
The very suggestion to Virgin that you are going to cancel the contract may bring some help from them.
If not, make the change when your contract period ends. You need an ISP who will guarantee full backup when problems occur.

rl, I fully agree with you, unfortunately Virgin has a contract with me for the next ten months or a fee to terminate of £480 this is equal to 10x£48. Meaning, if I have this money OK otherwise it is in their favour and well they know it. In the mean time, clicking the [x] at top of offending window is the only solution on offer to me - happy clicking. If what I have read on line or magazines, all ISPs are much the same regarding a "help line".

Basically, Virgin does have a pretty poor reputation, right from the start when installing street fibres right through to Customer Service.

I use BT Internet and, although their off-shore help is not brilliant, I have always found that by using one of th eBT Customer Forums I can get great service and, if necessary, put in touch with a UK based person. Based on that experience, then I am very happy with my service. However, if you have a Virgin broadband, phone and TV package things get difficult. Sky are around the same cost as Virgin and I have not heard too many bad things about them. BT have primarily sport based TV channels iirc. Basically you pays your money and hope ....

One other point to consider. If you are using an ISP based email address you are to some extent locked in to them. That is one reason why I have been with BT for so long as I have 9 different email accounts with them. (Don't ask!) If only Gmail had been available all those years ago!

Yes indeed, my package is Broadband, telephone and TV but only minor channels. To be honest if I manage but not often to a speak to a none Asian person, I then do get a good service. To change my E-mail address would certainly be a nightmare. Sky would mean installing a ghastly Sky disk. No doubt Virgin know full well this would be a hell to me. At my last sign up, requesting a better deal, price quoted was final, it was my prerogative to go elsewhere. Second time, managed to speak to a Yorkshire person, more sympathetic, and offered a cheaper deal.
