At various times during the day, when I open my Chrome browser I get this pop-up notification (see attached file). I've used Malwarebytes Pro and Avast Internet Security to scan my computer (boot scan too) but nothing is ever found. Is there anything that I can do to stop whatever Avast seems to be blocking?

PS - My Avast Internet Security subscription is due for renewal in five days. If I had a suspicious mind....

    Reset Chrome...
Click on "Customize and control Google Chrome":

Click "Settings" then "Show advanced settings" at the bottom of the screen.
    Click "Reset browser settings" button.
    Restart Chrome.

    If the above didn't help....

When I opened Chrome this morning the pop-up from Avast appeared again. However, when I followed your instructions to reset Chrome and then re-started it I got no Avast warning. I'll wait until today has passed to see if the Avast warning occurs again. If it does I'll follow your instructions to reinstall Chrome and report back. Fingers crossed!

    Thank you. :)

I'm happy to report that resetting Chrome seems to have resolved the problem. The pop-up no longer occurs and the browser seems faster than before, probably because I'm now being more careful about which extensions I enable.

    Thanks, Broni. :)
