    Hi guys

I have updated probably 5 laptops for Win-1709, no such stop code error.

Guys, is there a iso for this 1709 version to install as fresh start, not update.

In this case, the pc keeps saying some thing is wrong when starting and loop into get info and restarting. Only by press F8 i get into auto repair mode that can lead to Safe mode, something new i just learnt.

Is there another way to get into Autorepair mode when pc start that bypass the screen that loop something is wrong & collecting info?

Safe mode runs but when i restart in normal mode again same problem.

The error code is VIDEO TDR FAILURE, culprit is atikmpng.sys. Do you how to fix this? There is some suggestion that involves get new drivers. However i cannot get to the web on this pc & i have a phobia of getting drivers. Have probably go into another pc, what about a generic drive.
Ideas, ideas from friends may shorten this process. :(

Go to the Media Creation Tool which can create either an ISO for burning to DVD or directly to a USB-stick.

Christer i mean where i can easily download an iso image that can be installed into a pc and zoom it is v1709 without hours of updating. I am trying GetintoPC.com

On the issue of how to boot to safe mode if you can't run in normal mode (F8 don't work fast enough in win10), there are only 2 ways as my myopic vision goes.
    i) When Win 10 fails to boot normally three times over, the fourth time it enters by default in an Automatic Repair mode. Using this mode, you can boot into Safe Mode.
ii ) Use win10 installation DVD or pendrive to get into the series of options to repair, command prompt, etc which also include safe mode access.
Have you guys tried another way?.

Update to the main problem that started this thread, i am able to start normal mode by a simple work around.
At Safe mode, at the device manager i disabled the problem video card.

It can then start in normal but will remind me of the card in problem. I tried to get an update for the card but it keep saying it is the best driver so far. So i am stuck without using the dedicated video card. In spite of this all else goes good.

As I understand it, this is the easiest way but I don't know if an ISO can be "installed" rather than used to create a DVD. Never done it myself but always had the tool create an USB-stick which works very well. Also, I choose to get it created to be used on a different computer. That means it will get "the whole package" which is the best option for a successful upgrade.

When you install or upgrade to a new version of Windows 10, e.g. from 1703 to 1709, if you do that immediately after the release of the new version, there are no further updates to install. Now, when 1709 is 6 months old, there are a few updates to install. But there is hope, version 1803 should not be in the too distant future.

I've never heard of that one so I can't help you.

FYI. Yesterday I inadvertently reconnected my SSD drives at the motherboard and the smaller SSD which had been the Master Originally, was now back as 1st boot.
Windows 10 popped up a message to the effect that as this version was 1703 - it could not apply security patches for Defender until it updated the OS to 1709.
I had a look in Settings > Security and Updates and the updates were shown there waiting for Download and install.
I left the comp to do the job and used my HP Notebook instead.
A couple of hours later and a requested Restart - the SSD is now running Version 1709 and Build OS 16299.309 NO PROBLEMS! ;)
