This is version 24 of KB2952664 which in the past has been an optional update. Today, it was elevated to important but I don't understand why. In Compatibility update for keeping Windows up-to-date in Windows 7 it is stated and I quote:

This update performs diagnostics on the Windows systems that participate in the Windows Customer Experience Improvement Program. The diagnostics evaluate the compatibility status of the Windows ecosystem, and help Microsoft to ensure application and device compatibility for all updates to Windows. There is no GWX or upgrade functionality contained in this update.

It is my emphasis (bold text) and I'm not participating in that program so why is it offered to me in the first place?

I have been able to just ignore it as an optional update but now it has become important. Despite that change, I am firmly convinced that I do not need that update.

What troubles me further is that the download consists of two files: not only "windows6.1-kb2952664-v24-x64_8e62212ff6bf2c4e47162f6afcee525a71e85445.msu" which is the "usual" one but also "enabletask_772bb9f7f2421ad6c566471448a7bef18d58cc5b.exe".

An explanation of the second file would be appropriate but as usual, the KB-article gives absolutely no information about anything.

This update has gone into hiding on my system!

Just a short note that sometime last week, on my system, KB2952664 disappeared from the list of important updates and reappeared among the optional updates. (I didn't check the version number ... ...)
