Hi, I would like to be able to search on a series of numbers within Excel in a column to see how many times they appear. I may wish to set some conditions as well.
Is there a formula within Excel that I should be looking at to achieve this?

A "series" of numbers? Do you mean a range? Will there always be common digits in those numbers, for example 12367, 123934, 12309?

Is this a one time requirement or something you will be doing regularly? If one time, this is easy.

For example (using 123 again) just highlight the column, then click on "Find". Enter 123, then "Find All". The search results box will tell you how many cells have that string, and then list the cells.

If you need something more complex (unless some Excel expert stops by here), I might suggest you post your question at Excel Forum.

If you do find a solution elsewhere, please post it back here so we all might learn something new. Thanks.
