I neep help

I recently upgraded my computer to a Athlon 1700+ and replaced my Motherboard and case. MY computer plays Starcraft at slower speed than my old AMB K6 300. I also checked my System Information, and it thinks i still have a AMD K6. My Bios recognises my Athlon however. Can anybody help me here?

perhaps you have to re-install your bios chipsets drivers or
re-configuring it

My Bios is an Award Bios, if that helps in any way. I have 160 MBs of Ram, My MB is an AK32L by Shuttle. IT is sort of homebuilt. But my Bios system recogninses my Processor, it is only WIndows that does not see it. Does any of that info help?

you said that the bios recognizes the new CPU and windows doesn't,
so the best advice I could give you right now is to re-install windows instead of messing with the registry or the bios.

Did you notice much of a difference ?

 

AMD k-6 300. My computer starts up and shuts down faster. On games it seems to accually manage to be slower
