I've been trying to update Windows 10 on my HP desktop. I keep getting error Oxc1900107. I've run the troubleshooter and tried repairing the disk to no avail. I'm frustrated.

Have you tried disconnecting all peripherals devices to see if it works?

Yes, there is still a wireless printer and scanner. Do they count?

Yes. Try without dual-booting (just 1 HDD/SSD) the one with the OS installed. Only keyboard and mouse. If you have a 3rd. party AV operating - disable it while updating - you can install it again after the updates work.

No, that didn't work. Got to 71% and failed. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Would you please clarify if you are experiencing an issue with the 'normal' Windows update or are trying to install either the Creators Update or the current Creators Fall Update.

Googling comes up with this ....

Windows 10 update failed, Error code: 0xc1900107.

My situation is the same as what you Googled. I ran the troubleshooter, it appeared to make some fixes but the result was the same when I ran the update, it failed. I checked for uninstalled updates but all that showed was a list of failed updates. Windows Defender did appear to update but not Windows 10.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! This finally worked. I had to rename the file. (Named it "****") and it updated.
